Open circuit cooling towers are cooling units that cool down a mass of industrial water to high temperatures through direct contact with air.
The encounter of sucked or pushed air with water causes partial evaporation of the same ( 3-4%) that then cools down the remaining water mass (the latent heat of evaporation). It is sent back to the initial process to absorb heat again and start the cycle once more.
Mainly used in process cooling or air conditioning (HVAC), Decsa's open circuit cooling towers are available in TMA-EU and SQA models (equipped with axial fans) and in TMR model equipped with centrifugal fans. All available series, made of galvanised sheet steel, feature high-efficiency heat exchanger fill packs and an optimal L/G ratio.
The development of increasingly high-performance fill packs allows us to work today with approaches close to 2K, ensuring cooling water outlet temperatures that are increasingly close to the reference wet bulb temperature (WBT) values.
