France’s leading natural stone producer goes BIM!
Since 1853, ROCAMAT has been producing natural building stone, not only in France but also internationally in 252 countries and 7 continents. This is a successful export for this noble material with its traditional know-how, whose performance must be promoted.
The French manufacturer offers recyclable materials of the highest quality, with a positive impact on the planet. True to its vision of sustainability, ROCAMAT has decided to use BIM. Indeed, digital technologies are essential tools to highlight the performance of this historically artisanal material. ROCAMAT wants to pull the whole sector to reinvigorate its industrialisation, notably with the work done with its professional organisation.
Going digital also facilitates collaboration between all builders and stakeholders in a sustainable construction project. The choice of BIM&CO was therefore a natural one, as it is a platform of BIM objects whose mission is to connect all construction stakeholders to the powers of data. BIM&CO was also proposed to ROCAMAT by the BIM stone working group with the CTMNC.
Sustainability and construction, the common vision of this partnership
In addition to facilitating collaboration, the bimandco.com platform helps reduce errors such as collisions and information inconsistencies. These are detected in advance during the modelling phase and can be circumvented. BIM&CO‘s vision is to reconcile comfort of use with respect for the external environment.
This vision of eco-responsibility is shared with ROCAMAT, for whom construction using natural stone is part of HQE (High Environmental Quality) construction projects. Indeed, limestone is 100% natural and mineral and does not release any harmful chemical components into the atmosphere.
The manufacturer testifies on this collaboration, which has been a success: “The BIM&CO contacts are available, the support and follow-up are efficient. The platform provides visibility to architects and design offices, and BIM products are easily downloadable.”
You can already find the complete data and properties for each ROCAMAT BIM object on the bimandco.com platform, under this link.
